Tour Overview
This extended Bhutan journey offers a deep exploration of the country’s most untouched valleys, sacred monasteries, and rich living culture, combining nature, spirituality, and authentic rural experiences.
The tour begins in Paro and immediately heads to the serene Haa Valley, one of Bhutan’s least explored regions. Here, travelers experience traditional village life, ancient temples, sacred legends, and peaceful landscapes surrounded by mountains, along with opportunities to interact with local communities and experience Bhutan’s rural lifestyle.
Journey Details
More about the route, places, and experience.
From Haa, the journey continues to Thimphu, the capital city, where Bhutan’s modern identity blends seamlessly with tradition. Visitors explore iconic landmarks such as the giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley, memorial stupas, traditional museums, hospitals of traditional medicine, monasteries, and lively city streets filled with local culture and craftsmanship.
The route then moves to Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass, offering panoramic Himalayan views and sacred stupas. In Punakha, travelers discover lush river valleys, ancient fortresses, sacred fertility temples, and scenic hikes to hilltop monasteries, showcasing Bhutan’s spiritual depth and natural beauty.
The journey continues to the stunning Phobjikha (Gangtey) Valley, a glacial valley known for its untouched nature and as the winter home of the endangered black-necked cranes. Here, guests enjoy nature trails, monastery visits, and conservation experiences while surrounded by peaceful highland landscapes.
On the return journey toward Paro, travelers pass through Thimphu again and continue into Paro Valley, where Bhutan’s most iconic cultural landmarks are located. Highlights include ancient temples, fortress dzongs, traditional bridges, and riverside walks that reflect the country’s deep historical roots.
A major highlight of the trip is the unforgettable hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliffside overlooking the Paro Valley. This sacred pilgrimage site offers a powerful combination of spiritual significance, adventure, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery.
The journey concludes in Paro, leaving travelers with lasting memories of Bhutan’s pristine landscapes, rich Buddhist heritage, and warm hospitality, making it a truly immersive Himalayan cultural experience.
