Tour Overview

This 14-day journey through Bhutan is a comprehensive cultural and scenic exploration of the country’s most important western and central valleys, combining heritage, spirituality, nature, and traditional life.

The trip begins in Paro and Thimphu, offering an introduction to Bhutan’s unique capital and surrounding landmarks such as monasteries, dzongs, temples, museums, and vibrant local markets. It provides an early insight into Bhutanese culture, Buddhist traditions, and everyday life while also showcasing key viewpoints like Buddha Point and historic bridges and valleys along the way.

Journey Details

More about the route, places, and experience.

From Thimphu, the route continues eastward into Punakha, where the landscape becomes warmer and more rural. Here, the focus shifts to iconic monasteries, riverside fortresses, suspension bridges, and short hikes that highlight Bhutan’s spiritual heritage and natural beauty.

The journey then moves deeper into central Bhutan through Trongsa, a historically significant region that once served as the seat of royal power, before continuing into Bumthang—the spiritual heartland of Bhutan—known for its sacred temples, ancient monasteries, and deeply rooted Buddhist traditions spread across its valleys.

After exploring Bumthang, the itinerary includes a peaceful excursion to the Phobjikha (Gangtey) Valley, a glacial valley famous for its pristine environment, open landscapes, and seasonal black-necked crane migration, along with serene hiking experiences and monastery visits.

Finally, the trip circles back toward western Bhutan, returning through Wangdue and Thimphu before heading to Paro. The experience concludes with cultural highlights including a major religious festival, visits to historic fortresses and museums, and the unforgettable hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks.

Overall, the journey is designed as an immersive experience of Bhutan’s culture, spirituality, and natural landscapes—progressively moving from western gateways into the deep cultural and spiritual core of the country before concluding with its most famous pilgrimage site.
